This new musical composition, ‘Odes in Honor of The Protection of our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary’ for SATB Chorus by Robert Sirico is an original acapella setting of the complete vespers Stichera, Litya, Apostica, and the Troparion for the Feast of the Protection of the Mother of God.
Use this score as a compendium to the service music for the liturgical celebration on October 1st, highlighting the festal hymnology in beautiful polyphonic stichera, or perform them independently as pre-communion hymn, or even as concert repertoire.
Either way, these beautiful musical selections will spiritually edify the congregation by appealing to the familiar old aesthetic of sacred music while presenting something new to a soul thirsting for hallowed sounds.
